FEMALE CLIENTS STORY 1:   TESTIMONIAL

I am an alcoholic and addict and thought I hid my problem from my family but I was only fooling myself.  I  came into the program scared and alone, my family supported me to come into treatment and I felt this was my last chance. The staff were great, the counselors Emeralda and Melissa helped me through the toughest times of my life.  My family participated in the family programming with me and we all learned and grew closer than we have ever been.  I can’t say enough about the staff and the support and knowledge they gave me.  I have been out of treatment for six months and was asked to give this testimonial.  I am working with my sponsor and feeling hopeful about my future.

Thank you for everything.

FEMALE CLIENTS STORY 2:   TESTIMONIAL

I was in dire need of an inpatient treatment program and my friend went on the internet and found the Dependency Solutions Website.  She immediately called them and they had a bed available the same day.   One of my biggest issues I wanted to conquer was learning how to set boundaries and to follow through on those boundaries because that is one of the things that led me to drink.  One of those boundaries included a very close loved one that had taken advantage of me while I was in my illness.  It was hard for me to face that someone I cared so much about could use me in that manner, but Dependency Solutions taught me how to work through it, not with resentments and anger, but to have patience and understanding.  I am continuing to work on those boundaries now that I am at home and have been following through with them. What I have found through this program is the comfort in knowing that I can call at any time, day or night, and someone from the program will be there to help.  One of the quotes that I have found in recovery that is my favorite is “Let go and let God”.   Dependency solutons was one  of the best experiences of my life.  From the clerical staff, to the office manager, to the counselors, to the Director, they were the most caring people to a complete stranger that I have ever known.  They are all committed to helping the addict, even going the extra mile to be there for you after you’ve completed treatment.  I would recommend this program to everyone who wants help to quit their addictive behaviors.  They will be there for YOU

MALE CLIENTS STORY 1:  TESTIMONIAL

To whom it may concern,

For  years I have been addicted to drugs. I was trying to go to a community college at the time but with little progress. As time went by and my addiction took its course my grades quickly went downhill. My mom finally recognized that I had a problem and got me into the Better Choices Counseling Services. She signed me up for a month in their sober living house. I learned a lot about myself through the first month being sober with the help of my counselor Dell Miller and another counselor working for Better Choices. I am so grateful that this facility was there for me when I needed it and that they were able to work with my financial situation. They took me to AA and NA meetings and helped me truly understand what it means to be healthy, happy, and sober. As I worked through my steps I was able to identify many of the problems that lead me to abuse drugs. I feel that this was the best thing for me to do in order to get on with my life. It was very comfortable in the house and I thought the environment was a great place to begin my first steps toward a new life.

MALE CLIENTS STORY 2:  TESTIMONIAL

I had been through inpatient twice before, both experiences I felt it was overcrowded and non-personalized.  When coming to treatment at Dependency Solutions/Better Choices I felt that I mattered.  The personal attention I received from my counselors, Dell and Joe gave me answers to help me build confidents in my recovery.  The Recovery Home I was living in was great, we weren’t  packed in and built relationships I still have with the men I was in treatment with.  I check in periodically with Dell living in Portland now and even came back for a weekend to visit the people in the 12 Step meetings that helped me get started and stayed the weekend at the  Recovery House.  Its just what I needed and  I got my family back,    Thanks. To all the staff.
